Dow Sustainability Innovation Student Challenge Award (SISCA)
Dow Sustainability Innovation Student Challenge Award (SISCA) awards graduate students for their innovation and research that looks for sustainable solutions to the world’s most pressing social, economic, and environmental problems. Now in its sixth year at UC Berkeley, SISCA is sponsored by The Center for Responsible Business at the Haas School of Business and The Dow Chemical Company.
Graduate students from any department at UC Berkeley are welcome to submit their current or ongoing projects in order to fuel their global social impact work. The team with the winning entry will be awarded a Grand Prize of $10,000 and the runner-up team awarded $2,500.
Preliminary applications (maximum 1200 words) and finalist presentations will be reviewed by an interdisciplinary UC Berkeley faculty selection committee and The Dow Chemical Company. Winners are selected based on criteria established by the UC Berkeley faculty judging panel and Dow, namely:
- Potential for solving world challenges that align with the Dow’s 2025 Sustainability Goals
- Interdisciplinary and collaborative nature of work
The 2016 application deadline is TBA.
