Our vision: a world where choosing clean electricity through smart timing (“Environmental Demand Response” or EDR) is widespread because it is possible, engaging, cheap and lucrative.
Our mission: “to raise awareness about the potential to reduce environmental harm by shifting electricity use to particular times; and to encourage the development and spread of common protocols for this practice.”
Our goals in early 2016: The first goal is to execute and realize a project to reduce mercury pollution from coal plants in the midwest with partners at Great Lakes Protection Fund, Rocky Mountain Institute, National Wildlife Federation, Delta Institute, and Energy Emissions Intelligence. Here is a link for more information about this project. The second is to integrate WattTime into WRI’s carbon account standards, which are used by all major corporations and organizations (including the UC system). Our third goal is to work together with manufacturers to release more WattTime Products into the market. Lastly, our fourth goal is to work with UC Berkeley to finish the various projects and initiatives on campus.
